The safest way is to NEVER click on a link that says its PayPal or your bank for that matter. Just open your browser and type in the appropriate www address for PayPal or your bank. That way you can't get caught out.

PayPal do state that any emails from them will be addressed to you personally. i.e. Dear Joe Bloggs ........

Any scammer hopefully doesn't know your name.

But to be safe just don't click on any of the links.
