I'm with Comfort for motorhome insurance, they do a bolt on package for home/contents up to 120 days away. They couldn't do it for me because of location/flood risk but it seems a good package if you have no unusual circumstances.

I'm now with Saga for home/contents, they cover up to 60 days but will extend up to 120 days if someone visits the property once a week and also charge a one off extra fee for this.

I have house and contents cover with the Camping and Caravanning Club, they allow 180 days house unoccupied. Found that the premium wasn't a great deal more than the company we were insured with previously. Have inserted extract from policy wording

Significant Features and Benefits Significant Exclusions or Limitations Section of the Policy containing further details
General Conditions & Exclusions
The following apply to the policy as a whole regardless of the specific cover you have selected. For full details of these and other
exclusions and limits please read the policy document.
• No cover is provided for wear and tear, maintenance or
anything that happens gradually.
• If you leave your home unoccupied for more than 180
consecutive days, let it to anyone or use your home,
contents or personal belongings for trade, professional or
business purposes, some covers will be restricted and some
will not apply.

Thanks PJ, we are with Motorhome facts for our MH insurance (which is Comfort isn't it?) so we will ask about home insurance.
thanks Worky - another one to add to the list to check out. I have tried SAGA for our travel insurance, but they were expensive compared to others and they wouldn't cover us for more than 3 weeks skiing.

Why doesn't Motorhome Facts do other kinds of insurance - surely anyone needing motorhome insurance also needs contents, travel, etc?
