Hi all,
I am considering putting a gaslow (or similar) system into my timberland freedom. It has the old pre 2004 butane cylinder with clip on regulator.
I know I need the new bottle, filler etc. and a new regulator. Does this mean I can have a system where I can keep the old butane bottle as part of a dual system or not? The gaslow site does not make it clear .
Thanks in advance

Yes you can have one gaslow bottle and one other standard bottle. You just need a connector hose for the existing bottle to the new regulator.

The re-fillables are propane, so....the spare would need to be propane not butane, wouldn't it?
Aren't the regulators at different working pressures!

That's what I thought, but could not find a definitive answer. If I can't use the butane, I suppose I can just get hold of a propane bottle?
All I want to achieve is a refillable system with a back up of a smaller swap bottle, just in case I can't find an LPG supply some time.
I am sure someone can give the right info.
Thanks

I think you will need the new standard regulator, GasLow bottle/s and preferably the stainless steel pipes etc. You have no need to worry about what you need as it can come as a kit, or you can phone GasLow and they will make up exactly what you need. They are very helpful/
You can of course buy through Outdoor Bits and get discount.
I decided to have two bottles fitted, which long term had the most advantages for me.

Willy,

If you want a small propane bottle visit your local refuse centre they normally have a cage of old bottles and you might be able to pick one up from there for a small price

Hi Willey,

If you want to have the old butane and a new gaslow tank together in the van then you'll need separate regulators for each and will have to swap over the connecting pipes, from the regulators to the van, when you want to go from one to the other.

We have a full Gaslow system but if you are long terming abroad, we would have one Gaslow and one pig tail. The pigtail allows most gas bottles to be conected to it.

We found LPG not easily obtainable everywhere.

The Galsow engineer who fitted ours suggested this as it works a treat even in Morocco.

But if U R mainly in France or Spain or the UK the Galsow is very good.
