Sorry Bill, you are right. I had missed the age of the van in the OP.

This: Older Motorhomes - Pre 2004
Motorhomes built in the UK before 2004 have no built-in gas regulator – the standard system comes with a gas specific regulator set at 37mbar for Propane or 28mbar for Butane which fits directly onto the cylinder.

Comes from here: http://www.rhinoinstalls.co.uk/motorhome_gaslow.htm

It's also on the Gaslow site.

It seems an easy installation but as you say one regulator for Butane and another for Propane.

One point though, with one gas at 37mb and the other at 28mb I wonder whether the appliances can cope with gas supply from the two at what are considerably different pressures. Would older appliances have been set up to work at one or other pressure and therefore with one or other gas I wonder, Alan.

Basically you can do most things, point is, what do you really need?
In the winter, Butane is less efficient and in really cold weather it can freeze up.
So logic would suggest that Propane should be the option of choice. If you wish to save money then perhaps use an existing Propane bottle with a gaslow bottle. I do not like humping the bottles in and out of the locker and use two Gaslow bottles that never move. Gaslow do provide a system of mixed bottles OR a system for two GasLow bottles.
I leave one bottle turned on and when it runs out I know it is time for a refill.
When you refill, both bottles get filled and you only pay for the gas you put in, which is also much cheaper than changing a bottle.
Where I live it is about 69p per litre at the moment.
The metal pipes are more expensive but do not decay like neoprene.
I felt just as unsure as you sound when I fitted this myself, but confess that I had a small leak. GasLow will fix any problems at Motorhome shows for free and proved to be very supportive over any questions.

Good Luck
Alan
