I have a 2009 Elddis Autoquest 140 based on a 2.2 Boxer and have found when driving at night that the headlights when dipped (and on high beam) point down way too much...has anybody else had this problem and if so is it easy to adjust the headlights?
PS I have the load adjustment set to normal, so this is not the reason.
I had the same problem on my new 56 reg Autoquest (old shape Boxer).
What I did was to manually adjust them. There are plastic screws to adjust the tilt up and down. I do not know if the new shape ones are the same.
I did it in the dark by putting the dip on and marking where they shone on my garage door with masking tape. I then adjusted them up a bit. If you set them right down (on the dashboard control) before you begin, you can get a good idea if they are going to be better.

Be careful how you adjust your headlights. They may seem low to you, but I can almost guarantee that if you adjust yourself they will be too high and then an MOT failure. If you feel that it is an issue, have them checked at the next service. They can then be setup correctly.
Most motorhomes have lights that point low because of the weight capacity, load it fully and the lights will dazzle.
Personally, at the speeds that a motorhome would expect to travel, I would consider almost anything to be adequate.

There are low headlights........ and then there are Boxer low headlights.
I could barely see mine shining on the road as they were so close to the front of the van. The first time I drove it in the dark was on unlit country lanes. It was a bit nerve wracking.

thanks for reminding me i have headlights, just goin to check they are still there, cant remember last time i used them, allways seem to be tucked up on a site before it gets dark.
oh, just remembered , a long tunnel in the pyrenees.
My nearside headlight is higher than the offside, but I cannot find any manual adjustment. Where are you using the Allen Key Zebedee?
Sorry - didn't see this post.
If you look into the scuttle there is a large blanking plug (about 20mm diameter) directly above each headlamp. The one on the passenger side is easier to find.
Prise it out with a penknife blade and you will see a white circular "nut" with a recessed hex key socket set into it. You will need quite a long Allen key to reach it.
Try adjusting it at night so you can see what (if anything) happens, and don't turn it much at a time in case it comes off the thread . . . . like some kind person must have done to mine!!
The garage couldn't do anything without removing and dismantling the headlamps - which would have cost a lot in labour charges. Fortunately the dipped beams are just about high enough to be usable if I drive fairly slowly, and I don't do a lot of night driving in the van anyway, so I said leave them be!
