Whilst surfing one day I came across << This >> Now it is fairly obvious (To me at Least) I may be wrong BUT, This technology works with things that are getting closer whilst moving towards the item, Sooooooo Whilst in itself being a great idea for no holes fitting of a reversing sensor, I then started thinking !!!! surely if it works as described above it would also work if switched on say overnight if someone approached the MH in this case and alerted anyone inside that someone WAS approaching.

I had looked at the sleep tight system but that worked on Ultrasonic sensors so if anything at all was within its detection area it would activate the alarm so you couldn't leave chairs or anything in awning whilst activated.
I had also investigated the possibility of the microwave proximity alarms but they also activate if someone moves inside as the create an "Active" bubble.
Then I thought well if there was such a thing as a Directional Microwave detector then that would work as required, That was when I came across these reversing sensors, Now all my investigation so far has confirmed what I am thinking, I have sent emails to the company concerned but as yet no reply but this will be purely because of holiday period I hope.
I also have an alarm company investigating the possibility of such an alarm.

In theory it sounds good but these things are only designed to work for very short periods of time so it will be interesting to see what the manufacturer says from a warranty perspective as well as anything else.It would have to be wired through an independant switch as the backs normally come on with reverse signal.

One of the trade members on here offers a such proximity alarm with blue LED's - perhaps someone could post a link?

Would that be the Blue LED's down the outside of the MH?

Yes, but they only illuminate when the proximity field is breached as a visual deterant and the alarm also chirps. There was a YouTube video but I can't for the life of me remember the name. I think the van was a Autotrail tag axel.

Are you thinking of fitting them (2?) so as to protect the door areas as opposed to front and rear fitting?

Sounds very doable. Triggered by wandering nocturnal animals?

Yes that is the sleep tight system which work with Ultra Sonic which means nothing can be left in the field of detection.

Er, not quite right. This type of sensor looks to see a CHANGE in the reflective patern, so providing those chairs did not start to move about by themselves, or a cat did not wander into the awning it should be OK.

Thinking of all way around But from my understanding they only detect above 50 cm above ground which is also adjustable for sensitivity
