Im thinking of mounting my panel near to a fully opening skylight so i can angle the panel towards the sun when parked up for long periods.Does anyone know of a mount which will do this? Anyone already tried this?

Dont forget that the sun's position is constantly changing so you will need to constantly adjust the panels position to get the most out of your panel.!

If you are going to be in a very sunny location will you really need to go to the extent of setting up a tilting system?

I have a 100W panel flat mounted and in sunny climes that keeps 2 x 110A/H and the starter batteries fully charged. If you are in sunny climes just think how much electrical power you will actually require.

Light evenings and mornings, so need for lights. Warm nights so no need for heating. Fridge runs off gas, so does hot water. Not many other things you will need power for I can think of.

If you are thinking of winter time then you will require MANY more panels to be self sufficient. In practice you will be looking at EHU to supply you with enough electrical power, either that or moving every day to recharge your batteries.

Edit

Judt read your second post, once more I can confirm that my flat mounted panel keeps both leisures and starter battery fully charged when parked up on my drive. Give it a try before you go to the bother of making a tilting bracket, you might not need it !!!

eBay just look for the largest size 24" I think, horizontal opening friction hinges. Very cheap! Then some aluminium angle to suit

My son does tilt and turn brackets for Narrowboats, but they are probably over the top for motorhomes.
