Hi

I need 13kg propane and it's a bugger to buy. I was wondering what others do?

I've tried -

* Morrisons - they don't stock it - they only have 6kg and Patio Gas

* Calor Gas stockists in my area according to the Calor Gas website - they are either out of business, or when I go there, like Morrisons they only have Patio Gas, or if they do have 13kg, you can be sure it is an empty. I've phoned Calor Gas a number of times to tell them that none of the stockists shown carry the stock, but they can't help - they're just in a call centre. You can't see a complete list on their website, only those which come up when you put your postcode in, and I've tried them all.

* Ordering online for delivery - I've tried this a few times without success. They won't tell you when they're going to deliver and I can't stay home 24/7 during the working week hoping they might arrive, and even though I asked if they would just call me before they came (it takes me 15 mins to get home from work, so if they called, I could rush home at the drop of a hat to be there) they called me 10 mins before they were due to arrive and said that they wouldn't wait 5 mins - so I had to cancel my order. They said that they wouldn't call any earlier - not possible apparently.

So, where do you buy YOUR gas??? And any ideas in Central London?

Caravan Club sites and they charge fair prices. I doubt that booking a night is required as long as you have membership?

There are loads of independant suppliers round here, caravan centres, chandlers and gas delivery services, even a tool-hire shop (they rent out gas heaters)
Would never go to the likes of B&Q or the local garage, they are way too expensive.
I use a local suppliers who fills the taxis with LPG, he's the cheapest, followed by two local boat yards and an independant caravan storage place.

Hi Heather, This is not answering your question..... but I had a similar thourghts when we were going through france and into spain.... so when I came back home the first thing I did was to fit gas low tanks now I just pull into the petrol station and fill up as i would for fuel.... may be it might be an idea to have one gaslow tank and keep your 13kg propain tank and have the best of both worlds.... just my view...

Happy new year Smile

Go Outdoors if you have one near, they are the best for price in this neck of the woods even better than a main Calor dealer!

I use a garden centre or a gas and welding supplies firm.

Morrisons were useless for me, also purchased on a caravan site. They charged a little more at the site than a garden centre but I was in the middle of using my Cadac
