Still feel if its manualy ok ie you can get a satelite, then the next stage is to up grade the softwear would be the next step, if I recall we disscussed this while you were in spain a few weeks ago... onto ten hafft site and down load the file and then upload the file via an usb rs232 lead.... because the change of the frequence the vision uses to lock onto astra 2, always assuming you can lock onto say astra 1 ok..... hope that helps?

Hello Clive,

Thanks for replying.

I have been fiddling with the sat system for 2 hours now.

I can get Astra 1 by manual and auto search (Auto Search took 15 mins).

But I followed your instructions re the Astra 1 and then manual search for astra 2. That worked in Spain, now I can't get it.

Also, if I search and find astra 1, when I plug it into dreambox, it then changes and loses signal but says "found" on sat display.

So are you saying I need a USB-RS232 lead and connect my laptop to the sat system to update?

Trev

Hi Trev,

Your dreem box? i assume is a satelite receiver and would have noting to do with the control of the sat system, I'm just looking at the control of the sat system, if it locks automaticaly onto say astra 1 then I know the control receiver is ok...

An Update.

The Oyster no longer finds Astra 2. If it does, within a few seconds, it moves off it again.

I have had to strip the cupboard and remove the Oyster Vision II control box from the ceiling of the motorhome.

It is being sent to Oyster Sat-Tech as it cannot be manually updated. So it has to be re-programmed again. This is the second time in less than 2 years.

Going to cost a shade under £60.

Getting a tad expensive.
