We used Comfort for our insurance. Our policy covered us for a visit to Morocco last winter and they provided us with a green card. Had we broken down, however, we would have had to sort the problem ourselves and claim costs on our return - no repatriation of vehicle, nor local network to help. Loved Morocco!

When we had an RV we used Safeguard for insurance to Morocco....now we have a car and we use Saga.

Both policies , once you have read everything, say the same sort of thing !! Get it sorted yourself, pay for it, obtain receipts ( if you can, this is NOT always possible !) and claim back the money when you get back to the UK.

All that said, Moroccans are well known for being able to mend ANYTHING!!

When we burnt out our brakes coming down a mountain, a mechanic on the side of the road sorted everything for us for a pittance. Now, that's not to say it was quick !! At one stage he even had to drive 30 kms into Agadir to get someone else to MAKE some wheel bolts and we had to give him some money to get some fuel for his car before he could go !! If we hadn't have been carrying our own brake fluid I expect he would have to have gone off to buy that as well .... We broke down at 11 am....and were fitting the wheels by the light of the toad at 7.30pm in the evening !!! That goes down as one of the longest days in my life...thank God we were in the RV and had all our own facilities with us , as during the day the temperature was over 35 degs. I was flagging but the Moroccan mechanic and his apprentice ( he looked about 12) worked all day with no complaints !

Our RV was about 11 years old at this time.......those of you with newer motorhomes might find it comforting to know even us oldies were repairable !! I expect spares for newer motorhomes might be a problem but we used to carry a comprehensive selection of bits and pieces with us....dont forget this is Africa !!

Dont be worried about coming...you will love it ......
