We had a camos dome fitted in uk fanatstic in uk and most of france.

Then in Spain (apparently like most people)nWe got a Spanish guy to supply and fit a massive free standing dish and set up exisiting box etc for enlish channels. Cost 150 euros.

Lots of fellow brits on the site would have helped us do all this and taken us to the shop to but the big dish lmb and cable and that would have saved us a bit but we felt we should support local traders Very Happy

Well i got a call from a customer to fit a Awning in Paris, Apparently there was nobody local to do the job.

Customer emailed me and was happy to pay for the travailing accommodation costs to Paris.

So after no persuasion with Trish, off we went !!!

Hi.

Why not just go for a crankup system. £400 + & 40 for a freeview box from Maplins. I fitted our system nearly 6 years ago while on a C&CC site in Weston.S.M. Only took 3 hours to fit. Has worked very well in France / Germany and North Spain for BBC/ITV

Hi

We had a crankup on our last van (which was on it when we bought it) but could never get it to work properly. Perhaps it was just me, or a fault on the system but its put us off trying another.

Hi lib.

It may have been fitted wrong so you were looking in the wrong direction.

We had two friends who had this system fitted by an expert and both were fitted wrong. I ended up fitting them correctly and they were both very pleased with how easy it was too use. One system was 180 degrees out.

Hi Steve

Sounds like it may have been fitted wrong then, but I dont understand what you mean really. Doesnt turning the handle on the inside turn it in any direction? Sorry to be a bit thick about all this.

Yes the control inside does both the elevation and the direction

Hi.

The disc that has the N.S.E.W. shown on it was 180 degrees out. So when you thought you were pointing in the direction of South with the dish you were actually looking towards the North. So never going to get a signal from any astra sat.

The other easy fitting mistake is the crank up indicator not reading correctly this can also make it very hard work to get the correct elevation.

2 very simple fitting mistakes I have had to put right.
