Got boured again so going off to france for the weekend, late ferry to Calias and stop at the marina aire.... shop at the market in town, then to Auchan for the usual "tesco shop" but nicer to do.... then load up with fuel and then off to either one of thses aires for saturday.....
and come back late sunday evening.... if anyone has never gone to france before and wants to have a little punt and get home quick its worth haveing a go..... looks very nice there.... and bet you get hooked and want to come back and see more of the country....
No contest between those two aires Clive, Le Crotoy wins hands down every time.
There's also a nice little pull-in around the bay just off the D940 which is ideal for watching the local bird population and taking a walk across the marsh.

I'm not a great fan of campsites but sometimes, when I fancy just a couple of days over there, I base myself at Camping Pommiers Des Trois Pays 50.77980,1.94777 in Liques just a 25k drive to Calais, Cite E and located in an area ideal for walking and cycling.
Quite a pleasant site with all the usual facilities including free wifi.
Wish we lived close enough to 'pop over' to France for the weekend. It's a day for us to get to the port
Make it an extended weekend then, Start out Thursday night after work, get back Monday evening.
Lol. Not a problem we're off for about 10 days next month (hopefully skiing) so that'll scratch the itch for the time being A ferry to France from Swansea or Pembroke would be ideal..............
Contact Irish Ferries and see if they will do a through fare from Pembroke to Roscoff or Cherbourg the mileage to and from Dover will go a long way toward paying the ferry fare.
