our carpets could do with renewing i prefer to save the originals to put back in if trading in etc, but we have a pup and are about to go away for 6 week's, quoted price about £265 for new set 3 x carpets in total,
thought i would use carpet tiles as a temp solution got 20 tiles 5oo x 500 for £2;49 each set about them today the best i could get were 6 full size tiles every other b****r needs at least one cut got most of them down and they looked too good, madame now want's me to do the cab area,
i will see how they survive a few muddy walk's and the beaches in portugal before i decide on a permanent solution last van i put laminate down and used runner's, will trial this idea first.

Excellent local firm in Redditch, Crusader Carpets. Good price also!
No connection, other than as a very satisfied customer.

Roll-end off-cut = £30
Edging by local carpet place = £30-40 (from memory)

Gave them the old carpet to use as template.

I just bought a roll of felt backed carpet, made a paper template and cut to suit
Did not bother with any edging, cost around £60
There was enough left over to make carpet squares for heavy use area
When its trashed I will just buy another

Ummed and ahhhed about new carpets in our old motorhome last year and in the end found an offcut in B&Q for about £30 and cut it myself. Even had enough left over for a couple of mats for the "heavy foot traffic" areas, too.

At that cost we decided to fit a new carpet annually!

For my last van (Elddis Autoquest with loose carpets), i went to a huge carpet shop and saw some thin rubber backed carpet on a roll 4 metres wide.

I asked to buy some and was a bit embarassed to say '1 metre please' Embarassed As the backing was rubberised, it was easy to cut and fit with good scissors, it did not slide about and needed no binding.

Total cost was less than £20.

Got a set made from the originals by Ace carpet edging in Great Dunmow. They did a good job at a reasonable price. Very pleased.

Darren at Bespoke Rugs offers an excellent quality service where nothing is too much trouble and the job is top notch.

He has a motorhome and attends all the major shows.

Attention to detail is excellent and great customer care, with overnight camping with hook up, water and wifi at his permises.

I have no connection with the company other than being a very happy customer on a number of occassions

A couple of six foot lengths of industrial quality runner from the Stratford Show for a fiver each.

A bit of shaping and some double sided carpet tape to stop it wandering, and it's perfect . . . all for £10.00.

(N.B. The original carpet is in the loft - not because I want to keep it clean for selling the van, but because it is a stupid pale fawn colour and Mrs Zeb was forever complaining about it showing the dirt.

In my opinion (and I'm not criticising anyone else Rolling Eyes ) I think it's daft to store the carpets from new, ready for when you sell the van. That means you have not had any benefit from them and have passed it all on to the new owner. I doubt if the state of the carpets makes the slightest difference to the trade in value anyway!)
