just as an extra thought Idea have you checked the earth straps and leads, not forgetting to clean the battery terminals. having the batt tested before you pay out. although this cold weather always shows if you have a poor battery.

just had a couple of Leffes Cool before we get out & about I'll be getting the engine battery replaced, - the service in August flagged up that it was on its last legs Rolling Eyes . As you say the cold wether soon orts out the duff ones Cool

Glad to hear that you appear to have located the problem and it is resolvable without incurring the need for a new mortgage.......

Dying engine battery is comparatively easily sorted and if that is the seat of the problem - great.

The main thing, as you have said, is that once again MHF members have helped sort out a problem - something I strongly maintain is one of the main benefits of subscribing.

Do keep us informed if the new battery solves the final difficulty, do you not have a battery master to connect the two and keep both topped up at the same time?
