I have a G-mail account linked to my long-term e-mail address which is hosted by my sons. This address identifies me and I'd like to open another account, in G-mail, with an anonymous e-mail name.

I can't find any way to do this. The options seem to be to link an existing e-mail address to G-Mail or to give someone else access to my G-mail account. I just want another address: anonymous@g-mail.com sort of thing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please ?

I have just done exactly that, go to Gmail in google search and select "create an account". Fill in the details you require and Bob's your uncle, Flo's your aunt as the saying goes. Very Happy Very Happy

Done ! and I now have a nice new anonymous e-mail address.

The snag is I can't find my original one any more.

What are you doing to run the two accounts at the same time ?

Help !!

Go to Gmail home page and your anonymous email address will come up, under Help, select multiple accounts, tick all three boxes and then log out of your new email. Select gmail again and then you have the choice of which gmail address you wish to use for that session with your current browser.

Hope this helps.

I run more than one gmail account, and have access to them all.

Once you have set up multiple accounts and are logged in to one gmail account, there is a drop down box in the top right hand of your gmail screen on your browser with a down arrow next to the account address you are currently using.

Click on the down arrow-> switch accounts -> choose the new account to work with.

You can remain logged in to more than one, making switching virtually instant.

Why not divert the incoming mail of the new address into the old one ? You then only have one sign on. You can still from within your old address reply from the new address if that makes sense. If it doesnt go into settings and have a browse. I have four email (not all gmail) addresses set up like this and operate all from one gmail account

You are quite right Trevor, I forgot to mention that bit.

I think this is the way my current e-mail address runs. No-one has a Gmail address for me, they all have an old one, from Demon days, and that is now diverted into Gmail. I'd not thought of doing the same with the new Gmail one.

Thanks

I am new to Gmail as I have finally bought an Android smart phone.

My ISP is AOL and I have had an AOL email address for years.

Questions?

1. Can I divert the AOL emails to my Gmail account (from the posts above it looks like I should be able to)?

2. If I change my ISP would I loose my old AOL email address? I would like to keep it as I use it to log onto many shopping etc internet sites.
