Thanks for all your replies. It has put our mind at rest about the 2.3,
so we wont worry about it not being big enough. Just not certain about the van itself after a second look. We went back to test drive it but they hadnt bothered to get it out of the showroom in time and it had a panel loose over the wheel so we left it where it was.

matter of interest,what model do you have now and was it for space you were thinking of changing or some other reason.

We have Cheyenne 630LB which we love really, but as we have a three month trip planned we are considering swapping for either a fixed bed (we really want a Dakota) or a separate rear lounge which can be left made up as a bed (as in the 795 we looked at).

Have a look at the Apache 700... Pleased with mine, although only been a week.. Rear lounge that can be left as a bed with front dinette. Has a 4250 gross chassis, awning inc as standard and it still leaves 730kg of payload. 7.5mtr long.
Got the new euro 5 engine but cant comment on it much as only done 140 miles so far...
