If you are that cheesed off with paying Sky for all those repeats have a look at the website Euro-kings.com and look at buying an Openbox 11/12 if you have broadband at home.
We have a Humax and it does what it says on the box and we are happy with it. I agree with the niggles mentioned before, but I don't find it as easy to record things as Sky which is so easy peasy and just right for the technology impaired such as me. We use the Humax elsewhere, but have stuck with Sky at home. Also have the Panasonic tv with built in Freeview and Freesat with a plug in hard disc for recording and also a separate freeview digibox which records. So if pushed we could record 4 differant programs and watch a fifth on the Freeview tv. Do like our telly in this household.
BRILLIANT picture quality in both HD and SD but its nothing like as intuitive to use as Sky+ But it does have iplayer built in which I have configured wirelessly, even though there is NOTHING in the instructions to say it can be done that way. The instructions just say ethernet cable or those funny plugs that route the signal through your ring main )
I feel the instruction book is pretty poorly written and not at all easy to understand.
I am not a luddite when it comes to technology but it took many hours of reading to fathom out how to operate it.
What it really needs is " To do this, press this button, then this button, then scroll down and press this button, then press exit etc" Instead of the confusing gobblydegook
I personally think that Humax need to "refine" the user interface so that their product is as easy to use as the Sky system, they would then be impossible to beat
Thanks to all those who took the trouble to respond to this post.
Well I am not impressed. We have had this set for two years now and it seems prone to overload of data and crashes. In theory you can check out live a screen-full of sites but do this a couple of times and it will crash. It also crashes if we search too diligently; so I would not buy another Zhender. Finally after two years I am beginning to understand the remote control; two years! I have three remote's at home that took me minutes to get the hang of.

Totally agree with you on this, I changed our single feed LNB to a 4 way and wanted to change the set up on the Humax.......
not so easy, the instruction book gives no clue how to do it, after getting frustrated I e-mailed their helpline and got back the following VERY quickly;
Make sure the Humax has Two Cables connected to LNB 1 & 2 In, there should be a connection in between them called LNB 1 Out
2. Press Menu on the Humax Remote
(There was a p[icture of the remote to show me what to press here)
3. Use the navigation arrows to get to the SETUP menu,
4. Press OK to access the SETUP menu and highlight the MANUAL TUNE option,
5. With this highlighted press; RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE.
6. If press in quick enough succession you will reveal a hidden menu;
7. Press OK on ANTENNAE SETTING
8. Press OK to change the CONNECTION TYPE to “Two Cable (SAME)”
9. Press EXIT to save the results
10. You should now have two cables connected and functioning,
It worked quickly and easily and took less than 30 seconds........but left me wondering how many other "hidden menus" there are which are so much easier to use than some of the instruction book suggestions......
