Have lost all the ITV channels on freeview at home. Tried several autotunes at different times of the day, no difference. Any advice please.?? We get our signal from Bilsdale if that helps and no transmission problems reported here.
Are you in the middle of a retune? When they did that to us the ITV multiplex was moved to the highest frequencies and lower power. Our aerial was not able to get the top end of the band. The result was that we could not get ITV.

Not sure what you mean. How would I know if this has happened to us?? I can get ITV no problem on another TV (non freeview) and through the normal aerial.
With our Philips DTR we had to "restore factory defaults" which clears all the station information and redownloads it, was the only way to get stations which had moved frequency at the last part of the switchover.

This site will tell you but it is a bit complicated to find your way around.
You should have had a booklet telling you when the changes will be in your area. They take place in stages. As you seem to still have analogue I expect that you are in the middle of a change. Ultimately you may need to get a new aerial. It very much depends on the aerial you have already.

We've had to do that a couple of times too, and it worked a treat.
Motormouth, if unsuccessful with the above suggestions and link, try GerryD. He may be able to help further.
Cheers,
Jock.

As you are using Bilsdale, you will not be going through Digital Switchover until 12th to 26th September this year, so currently Bilsdale is on low power. I have checked reception for Northallerton as a general area and the signal is showing as near as you can get to full strength, so should be no reception problems.
Your receiver probably needs retuning, but please never use the Automatic Channel Search option. This is not the correct way to retune a digital receiver. To correctly retune, you must wipe all previous tuning and replace all existing channels. The only way to do this is to navigate the menu and look for either "First Time Installation", or "Default Factory Reset", or similar. This will put your receiver back to the "Out of the box" settings.
If you still have problems, PM me with full details of your receiver and your postcode and house number.
BTW, only ever use either the Freeview or Digital UK websites for signal information as they are the only sites that carry accurate signal information.

I was going to ask a related question so hope you don't mind putting it on your thread as I am sure the experts will be able to help. Yesterday after watching channel 5 (5005) in the morning, we could not get it later in the day. I went into the channel list and there were four other channel 5's listed (5651-5654) and they were all working. How does this happen? This is not the first time something like this has happened with different programmes. I have a HUMAX HD box.

Funny this should come up. I have been wondering why since the digital switchover in my area last year, that we have been unable to get channels that we could before and others that we couldn't get before that we now get. I presumed it was because we had a stronger signal that new channels appeared, but didn't explain why others had disappeared. I retuned and have since looked (and re retuned) but haven't been able to find anything that says 'first time installation' or 'factory reset'. Looks like I will have to read the manual
Thanks all, especially Steve and Gerry. The restore function has worked. It always amazes me how much knowledge there is amongst the community no matter what the problem.
