Sticky back velcro.

Attach claw side to dashboard of Motorhome and car. Soft side on GPS and phone, which also has Satnav. Units can be transfered between any vehicle without a problem. When I change the unit for a newer (different) one, all I need to do is attach the requisite velcro strip.

Unit is out of site of prying eyes whilst driving (French Police). I do not use speed camera settings. Maximum speed for Motorhome is 50.

Cost:- 3ft velco strip £2.99 (black). Still have 18" after 12 years.

Hope this helps

A piece of perspex glued/screwed to a piece of plastic window board to form a right-angle. The long piece goes under the clip; the sat nav base is stuck to the perspex with super glue. When not in use, the whole thing unclips and gets popped into the locker beneath the dash. Rolling Eyes Wink

Slight variation to unclenorms idea, scored a line where the clip grips the perspex and added a few adhesive non slip dots at the other end to stop scratches to the plastic...
