. . My biggest worry would be to be trapped in the loo/shower where the is only a narrow skylight. But at least one would have a water supply to keep the door cool for a limited period until, hopefully, help arrived. Geoff
. . . don't expect the loo door to hold back any fire . . usually constructed from plywood the flames & heat will very quickly eat through.
I appreciate, that which is why I said 'limited period'.
Having thought a bit more, maybe in that situation the best solution would be to soak the bath towels, wrap them around including mouth and nose to avoid smoke/heat in the lungs and make a quick dash for the outside door.

In the extremely unlikely chance of ever being caught in that scenario in a MH, maybe Geoff, however, that's not going to happen though, is it? Not if you have one or two serviceable smoke detectors, (depending upon the length of MH).
These really are "LIFE SAVERS", and to emphasise just how good they are for "early warning", I'll relate a true story to you all.
One morning a few years ago , we got a shout to a house, where the occupant's smoke alarm had activated. We arrived and checked out the property to find no signs of smoke or fire. Once we were happy that there wasn't any danger, we cleared and reset the detector, and informed the occupant that if the alarm sounded again, she was to call us out straight away.
Late in the afternoon, we got another shout to the same address, and turned up to find smoke billowing out of the front door.
We dealt with the small fire and ventilated the property. No one was injured.
When questioned about her smoke alarm, it was discovered that rather than call us out again when the smoke alarm activated for the second time, instead she physically removed the battery...............because the noise of the alarm was getting on her nerves.
Fire investigations concluded that a smouldering oak beam from up the inside of the old fireplace was the cause of smoke alarm activations, and yet, there was no sign or smell of smoke when we arrived on the first shout. The fire damage was minimal, but the smoke damage was major in the room affected.
Moral of the story? Never remove the battery from your smoke detector, unless it is for renewal.
Stay safe everyone.
Jock.

Any comments from the experts please?
Geoff
My thoughts are that in the time it takes to soak towels or whatever the fire would have got VERY much worse, we saw a MH fire near the Shepton show a few years ago and the speed of it was horrific, my worry would be that with such a delay you would not get out.....
