DJP, so if I get the Pioneer unit out I should see the torx screws that you mentioned. I'm hoping once I've got the lid removed I can fix the broken handle/clip back on and saving me the expense of a new lid.
Rayc,
I use the little trays either side to hold his & hers mobile phones; they get a strong signal sat there. Also my wife does not miss calls through scrabbling in her voluminous handbag.

Right, I've managed to get the Pioneer unit and the document lid out!! It was not easy and I have broken the bottom little tabs on the Pioneer facia which covers the screws which holds the unit into the dash. Hoping this won't be a major problem!!!
Got the document lid off as Alan advised and even at £27 + I decided that I would try and fix it. So have taken a dremel to the spring which was under the document grip which I broke off. Now the handle can sit down on the document lid nicely, just need some adhesive to hold it down??
Any recommendations for hard ABS plastic adhesive??
Does anyone know what the little black button insert is for just ahead of the document lid?
As far as I can tell that button has no function in our van. I think you would be safe using Araldite, try a little on the plastic inside the void first so that if it reacts it won't be seen, you will know in 10 minutes, Alan.

Richard.
Its just a blanking button. I used the hole to route the dash mounted rear view monitor cable.

Ken,
I found the reflections in the windscreen at night distracting. Ray
