The fridge on our unit freezes everything up, i have changed the Thermistor, the little bit which fits onto the fins at the back but it has not worked.

Does anyone know what else it could be, this afternoon stuck a winter vent cover on, hoping in the morning it will be ok but i have my doubts Crying or Very sad

Could it be the control panel?

Paul.

More likely to be the control pcb as youve changed the thermostat.

The thermostat on the fins I would imagine is there to stop them getting too hot, can't see how an external one could control the inside temp. There will be a second one or some other kind of thermometer to monitor the inside temp. I take it that the temp control does not work? Does it behave the same under gas, 12volt and 230volt?

Yes Dick the fins inside the fridge, at the top when you open the door. The right hand side of the fins where the thermistor is attached(half the fins) just freeze up and consequently freezes everything in the fridge regardless of what temperature setting it is on.

It happens on 240v, 12v and gas.

Many thanks for the link, I have saved it for future reference.

I don't think it will help me on this matter though as it looks like the control circuit board requires changing and i would not attempt that as i presume you have to remove the whole unit.

If you ring Thetford and ask them for the details of a mobile engineer in your area they will give you some names and numbers. They will be equiped to change the PCB for you under warranty if needs be.
