The best for the money sold out yesterday on ebay but they may relist next week possibly.
Most are from China and that is not a bad thing but there are some very poor ones. If you see one? post a link to it here and there will be someone for sure who has experience of it good or bad.

What do you have to look for to tell the difference between a cheap bargain panel and a cheap piece of rubbish,i was just about to buy a 80w solar kit off ebay consisting of 80w panel, regulator and 10m of cable for 130 quid.....dave

These units have two cables terminated in male & female connectors.

Why?

To allow connecting panels together, presumably in series. I appreciate that this is one way to reduce cable sizes, but I had envisaged fitting 3x80w (or possibly 2x100w) wired in parallel to a junction box on the roof.

What do others do, please ??

Panels will be mounted on frames incorporating uPVC window hinges, as m/h will primarily be used in winter, in sunny climes.

You have to examin in the flesh. Ebay pictures are worthless.
It also helps to test them prior to fitting but that is a Summer job so it takes time to become familiar with good suppliers
You have to be prepared to send stuff back and or receive damaged goods so it can be stressful.
My customers have the benefit of the stress being removed as I do all the crap of sourcing good stuff.

Yes you connect them in parallel to maintain it as a 12 volt system.
A junction box will do the job or you can use branch connectors as shown in this pic but it helps to have the crimping tool and extra ends so you can customise the cable lengths

i m sat infront of one of these and you couldnt wish for better quality , even the soldering top and bottom is hidden.....I ve had 50w out of mine inclined directly at a very low sun yesterday...
As for the hinges, buy the "fire escape " ones as they go from flat to nearly 90 degrees and can catch a low sun....
