Practice and a bit of experience is the answer for us skinflints.

When I had a Maxview Crankup on the roof it took well over half an hour the first time, and then I had locked onto the wrong satellite. Embarassed (If it had been a free standing dish it would have gone over the hedge!!! Shocked )

After a while when I had a "feel" for the operation, it never took more than a minute to lock onto Astra 2. As I'm sure you agree, once you have done it a few times and realise what's happening, it's not at all difficult, and unlike a tripod mounted dish you can't even see the Maxview when you are stood inside twiddling its knob! Shocked

If Mike isn't careful he will be persuaded to buy a sat finder that costs ten times as much as his dish!! Surprised
