I like louder horns as well but would warn that if the MOT tester thinks it is "strident" then it is a fail. Like the idea of the toggle switch......

The beauty of the toggle switch is, if you feed the switch/relay coil from the ignition on terminal, then it does nothing when the engine is switched off. Most MOT testers test the horn in that situation.

Looked at your link and all on there seem to be 'Air' or two-tone.

Is there not a simple, but louder horn which I could fit in the same place as the existing, without changing wiring/position etc.?

Am I expecting there to be too much of a simple answer?

Geoff

Fitting the dual tone horns requires no extra wiring other than a parallel wire to the second horn.

There may be another answer, but I haven't found it yet- if you replace one "Meep Meep" horn with another "Meep Meep" you just end up with a different "Meep Meep".

The "snail horn" dual tones are the best and easiest replacement just use the existing mount/wiring and fit them with the open end of the horn pointing down to avoid water collecting in it.

Sorry, but i do hate those that do a gentle pip as they leave, it always seems to be late in the day as well.
As to air horns, they are an addon that I approve of, I used to have colonel bogey on the taxi, the first 2 notes sounded like two tones. Laughing Laughing :lol:that shifted them.

cabby

I promise not to pip bye bye near your place

Exactly Jean-Luc. Wink

Wonderful sound isn't it.

Bettered only by a Spitfire passing overhead and ripping away into the distance. Very Happy
