Just back from NEC very poor and expensive compared to German shows.
Liked one vehicle in particullar a Dethleff hightop. Dehtleff UK dealer £44.000 - Geman dealer for identical spec £34000. Yes I know there are expenses but doubt that they total £2000. So still a significant £8000 saving can be had for a little hassle

Hi,

Was also at the NEC show and was impressed with the Bilbos T5 conversions but thought the price tag was a bit steep (£36,000 new) . Does anybody know of a good German dealer for the VW T5. I have looked at the previously recommended links but they seemed to point to coachbuilt conversions. Anybody out there who has imported a T5?

Thanks,

Julia

We didn't buy a new motorhome but we did buy a GPS speed camera warning thingie, think it was £85 plus £20 for years undate subscription.
Came into it's own last Saturday, pointed out all the camera sites, plus possible mobile ones.
What a pity I didn't have it in Janurary, £60+3 point for doing 36 in a 30 on the MAIN A21 TRUNK ROAD. London/Hastings.
They say 16% of the population have been done by cameras and the fines are due to go up to £90!

That detector wont detect the spy in the sky that some forces now have. Read it in a daily newspaper today. Aparently takes a photo as well.

Motorhomer it doesn't detect anything, it works on a data base supposedly up dated by ex-cops( deduct their fees from their pensions). Hopefully it will give a warning of possible spy in the sky areas when up dated. At the moment it gives warnings of possible mobile sites as well as static.
It's not perfect, it's legal and it puts the odds back in favour of me.

Hi Jim
Bring on the increase in fines mate, that should give our Tony another quarter Billion pounds to spend educating our kids, treating the sick and giving a decent pension to all our old (or whatever the new PC word is) folks so they can afford to live properly.....

Oh sorry, that'll never happen mate, so I am glad you feel that you have levelled the field for the time being.....
Good luck.

Bring on the increase in fines mate,

No problems with that mate in principle! makes no differce to those who really speed, as they don't have road tax, insurance or even the vehicle registered in their name, so it only targets the usually law abiding.

Hi Jim

makes no difference to those who really speed

As opposed to those who only speed a little bit?

Chav 1 "heh I heard Michelle is pregnant, zit true?"

Chav 2 "Nah She's only only a few months gone !"

when does exceeding the speed limit become real? You were exceeding the speed limit by 20% !! is 20% over not really speeding ?

as they don't have road tax, insurance or even the vehicle registered in their name

That's blanket statement, and not always true, you were really speeding (they had the evidence) and you were caught (me too btw)

McGarrett "Book him Danno Murder 1"

Danno "Heh hold on there Steve, its the only murder he as ever commited, he's normally law abiding

McGarrett "Dan O you are so right, let him go......"

Tongue in cheek, but with a point or two

George perhaps you can enlighten us all as to when disabled is really disabled? Is it the same as with speeding.

PS. I am not looking for a sympathy vote here.
