Hi all, I've just found this site too! So I'm here to say a hearty hello to you all. Hubby and I now both look forward to hearing from you.
We are in the process of planning a 3 month trip into Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland) this summer in our motorhome and would welcome any advice from all you experienced people out there.
We have never 'done' this area before.

Thanks for the info, I will look at it, however we do tend to travel independantly whenever possible, maintaining the theory that we can go where we want, when we want and stay for as long as we want to.
I'm particularly interested in the practical things like availability of deisel (id did read that not all fuel stations sell it) and also availability of autogas for domestic purposes etc?
However any relevant information would be good.

MMM magazine has a number of 'travel consultants' who for a small fee to cover printing etc and postage will provide information to motorhomers on a range of destinations.
Hi,
Done a similar trip 3 years ago, never managed to reach Finland, ran out of time.
Sweden, a very large place to tour, beautiful scenery with lots of extensive forests. Sites very good, many by remote lakes, watch for the midge in the mid-summer, vey busy in mid-july mid-August, then empty. Because the communities are wide spread try and keep your tank and supplies topped up.
Driving lights at all times and use the hard shoulder to let other traffic overtake. Don't be deceived by distances its a big country.
Denmark, brilliant, green fields and brown cows, half the price of Sweden. If you use the Helsenberg-Helsenor crossing try late at night, half price. Cracking camp site close to 'Hamlets Castle' along side the straits.
Norway roads can be narrow off-track and quite busy in mid-summer once again watch your supplies and we were driven away by the 'midge'
I still have some literature on the tour, e. me if I can help.
We were fortunate went by P&O Ferry masters to Helsenor 36 hrs quite a experience, now discontinued, shame.
Good luck Mac

Touring in Sweden, Norway, Finalnd was done by me about 20 years ago and what a smashing trip, The Ferry's were so clean and although the costs in Sweden were high it was well worth the cost.
I departed from Harwich to Oslo then went to Denmark Then through Finland, Germany back to Harwich and home.
My only problem was in Sweden when for some unknown reason the Police wanted to search for Drugs on board,

Only got as far as Denmark, where they seem to have a reluctance to accept plastic, apart fro that - it was t'riffic.
Have been further north without 'van - very very very expensive!
but, nice
Having driven to Denmark from Rotterdam - and also ferried to Esbjerg, would vote for a long ferry trip everytime.
[met couple from Shetlands who regularly ferried across to Bergen [I think] and then drove up - down whatever, seemed very impressed with ferry services in Scandanavia / N Europe]]
