Sorry I tend to make most things confusing. A pic would be very handy so that if I feel lowering the beam is not good enough, I can stick benders on in an emergency.

Many thanks JH. Unfortunately, the pix seem to have very little bearing on my lights. The square one is the nearest though so I don't know if that is good enough. Cheers anyway.

I've highlighted the etched markings on the protectors. The week I fitted them, the nearside one got whacked by a stone and cracked. Was unsure as to whether I should be pleased ....
