One important note to all you alcoholic motorhomers out there, if you dont level it up then the fridge dont work properly and you'll have to drink warm beer all night. Not a problem if you drink red wine though.
Thank god for Billyo and Caz. On our fourth weekend away last week, we almost finished a bottle of red wine watching our new neighbours try to level a van as the lady shouted ever more strident commands to the driver and the children started to cry. 'Shouldn't you be doing that' said my wife.'Apparently' I replied. 'On the other hand 'said my wife 'I think it might be better if we just fall out of bed occasionally...pass the wine..it's already looking level'

drive in, park, open wine / beer, pur in glass, put on table and check if it spills out, if it does get yellow chocks out & drive van on to them, then watch the tuggers struggling with the levellers, awnings, carpets & TV aerials and have a good laugh.

Being as this is my post i hereby award the best answer to Barry & Sue..
[quote:a7da32848b]Yes, I use the bottle of red wine method.
I slightly overfill a glass, drain some off (I drink it to save time), then look at the level.
Then I overfill the glass again, drain some off, and get out the bevelling locks.
Then I drain some more from another overfilled glass, an' put a wheel under each block.
An' then I (burp! pardon) overglass the fill, wheel a block over the 'van an' park a level.
Then I sit an' fill the glassover an' think while I finish the second bottle, an' nuthin's level anyway, sosoditan'thenIgotobed . . .

Steve, I like your idea, I use a similar T level but at the rear. At home I levelled the van on the driveway as accurately as I could and then mounted the level at the rear on the worktop making sure that both bubbles were level. The disadvantage of this position is that it can't be seen while I am in the driving seat. The advantage is that when it shows level I know that the fridge is level and should be working at its most efficient. Your method is convenient for driving into approximately the correct position but surely with the 'give' in the chassis along its length although the cab is perfectly level it doesn't follow that the fridge or cooker are level if they are towards the rear of the vehicle. Or do you find that if the cab is level the rest is level?
Phil.
