Bought one of these yesterday from our local Dixons for £299. It was the last one in the shop (apart from a tatty display model). So grab one quick if you want one!

I did try and find one at this price, I even tried to convince myself that I didnt need a 700. I had initially planned to take advantage of any show offers at Newbury, but impatience got the better of me.

I went HALFRAUDS...and saw the 500 at £299 and the 700 at about £379
I looked around for the suitably clued up sales assistant, but all I saw was a spotty faced youth who didnt look as though he would know Jack S**t.
So I went to the checkoput and asked politely if there was a suitably knowledgable assistant available.

The young lady made a loudspeaker announcement (I couldn't spell tannoy) so I waited..and waited..........after what seemed an eternity I went back to the checkout and commented (again politely) that it seemed that no one was interested in a sale, and I will go and find a retailer who would appreciate it.

I walked across the road to Currys and bought the 700 at £349 (I know I could have got it cheaper at the show, but without it I may not have been able to get there.)

I've just got to woork it all out now.
