I'm looking to get away for a few days at half term with our 10yo lad and the dogs. Can anybody recommend any good locations on the south coast?

If you are in the CCC the holiday site at Stokes Bay near Gosport is nice 5 mins to the beach and a pub round the corner and just up the road Kingfisher site has evening entertainment in there bar.

Lyme Regis - Freshwater bay - lots of camps sites - fossil hunting.

Freshwater Bay - near Burton Bradstock right on stoney beach 2 mins walk from MH - but you can also drive into weymouth up the road 20 odd miles which has sand.

Any of the Forestry commission sites in the new Forest - all out in the sticks, but easy drive to Lymington/ Bournemouth/ Mudeford etc. A good trip is to Lepe country park (head for Exbury lvillage & keep going)- right on the beach, parking for mH's; it;'s on the bottom right hand side of Southamton Water looking out to IOW.
