Hi

I have loads of small pieces from the pound shop, but I am looking for a couple of large pieces of rubber matting to line "the boot" and the underfloor area of the van.

Any ideas where I can get some. Tried the large DIY places.

Have you tried a carpet supplier -industrial type ( ie supply flooring for factories etc ) ? They might well have peices left over from a job that would do. Failing that what about looking at heavy duty vinyl flooring ?

eg This sort of stuff:

PS There's some on Ebay;

Can I ask, have you thought about the extra weight, rubber matting is quite heavy .. why do you want to line the floor, is it not covered in lino already?

Hope you don't think I'm being nosey .. just wondered..

The underlay that you can get for laminate flooring would be ideal and pretty cheap too

Hi Jim

I had not really thought of the weight, but as you say, it is quite heavy stuff.

I wanted to line the floor to help stop things sliding all over the place.

I have dome many of the cupboards and the TV stand with the thin stuff and that works a treat.

I am looking for a method to stop the deck chairs, BBQ, Oscars toy box and everything sliding about.

Any other ideas?

Your local pub or leisure centre may have a spare rubber darts mat if you can accept the advertising or line marking

Good morning Russell

I think once you start packing you'll be lucky if there is any space left for things to slide about Laughing George is stuffed full already.
Something you may not have thought about Idea and kills two birds with one stone, awning groundsheet ! It's invaluable if the site is dusty or wet, buy the 'breathable' kind, if you spill anything on it or the rain drips onto it, it drains through and it can double up as a floor mat in your large storage locker .. worth a thought Question
Buy a piece the length of the awning, it's normally about 8ft wide

Here is a sample

Hi Russell
Another thought mate, our belly lockers are lined with a ribbed type carpet. I have seen this in carpet shops and it is usually very light weight and cheap as chips Laughing Laughing Laughing
I think you can also get it as tiles??? Maybe worth a trip to your local carpet store and take a look. It would be easy to fit, with spray glue (I think) and will do what you are wanting.

Hi all

I will have a tour of the shops on Monday - too hot today - unusual for the sun to shine on my day off!
