We are fulltimers in an rv and we notice that our loo smells from time to time. We are using aqua blue kem at the moment, but we feel that we need to change to something else. Any idea?

A Sog system would eliminate odours and would not require any toilet additives. It is rather expensive but effective. Outdoor Bits sell them at a discount price.

Yes I agree with previous posts, Biomagic seems to be the way to go.....NO smell!...can be used in top tank for flushing(has a nice fragrant oudour) and also works in grey water tank....Just one bottle to take with you!

Hi Guys
This post is losing the plot, Gem posted the same question in the American RVs topics (which has since dropped off the front page), the point being missed is, he/she has an American RV which doesn't to my knowledge have a cassette toilet and has no need of any chemicals, in fact chemicals stop the natural biological process working and shouldn't be used.
RVs have a large black tank with a vent to the roof which uses the natural draught to suck air into the tank, this principal is what everyone raves about who fits a Sog system to their Thetford cassette.. which of course doesn't use any chemicals.. Wink

Even, I noticed this was a RV and don't have a Cassette.

Which, brings me to a question after looking around 20+ RV's yesterday, how the hell do you empty the Black Waste in a RV?

Hi Hugh

They have a large diameter 4 inch slinky hose that extends to about 15ft .. which is connected to both grey and black tanks, you pull a slide valve on the black tank FIRST then the valve on the grey, this flushes the hose out, very important as you can imagine.. this is why RVers are always asking if a site has a proper motorhome disposal point ..
The other method is to fit a 12v macerator which can pump the sewage through a small diameter hose which can be as long as you think you might need, very useful in sites without the afore mentioned dumping points.
