It really does depend on your budget. BUT....."Getting what you pay for" does not generally apply to photography any more. Excellent results can be achieved from kit that is a 10th of the cost of a big name piece of kit.

With your budget of £300 you wont even be able to but a leica lens but add a nought and you can have an excellent leica camera. I have an SLR that cost me £3500 and a compact that cost £350 in some circumstances it is impossible to tell the difference when looking at A4 size prints.

Most of the major brands have more than one camera in your price range, pop into a large store, play with a few, get some advice and prices then get onto the web and find the best online price for the one you fancy, then buy online or many High St stores will pricematch. Happy Snapping

Hi, I have a Sony Cybershot 7.2 mega pixel camera, I have had some really good photos from it, it has been the best camera I have had so far, it does alsorts, but I have only ever used basics, I paid around £299 last year I think they may have come down in price, when you find one you want try amazon I have had a few things from them and they seem a bit cheaper, I think Dixons sell them as well, Smile

I'm not an expert, but does this tick any boxes?
