I expect there are quite a few of you who have had an Air-Ride / Drive-Rite suspension kit (air bags/bellows) fitted to the rear of your vehicles. A couple of people have been very kind and sent me photos of their set up. Ideally I’m looking for the part number which is stamped on the mounting plates and the ones moulded in to the rubber bellows.
To help show what they look like, I’ve posted a photo below

Failing part numbers, I may be able to identify the OEM part number by its dimensions, therefore it would help to have the following measurements;
****Maximum (outer) diameter of the rubber bellows
****Minimum (inner) diameter of the rubber bellows where it mounts on to the steel end plate.
****Number of bellows
****Diameter of the steel mounting plate (top and bottom are probably the same)
****Maximum expanded height of the assembly (top of mounting plate, down to the bottom of the bottom plate), I appreciate this will be a rough dimension.
****Minimum compressed height of the assembly (top of mounting plate, down to the bottom of the bottom plate), again I appreciate this will be a rough dimension.
****Your vehicle and type will also be helpful.
I appreciate I’m asking for a lot of information, but I can assure you I will be making good use of the information and will obviously be grateful for your kind assistance.
I have been in touch with the UK suppliers in Ireland, but it’s a bit of a closed shop, so wish to progress my own system.

Steve,
The ones fitted (as standard by Benimar) to my DUcato 14 based coachbuilt are double convoluted bellows as shown in your snap.
The number on the bellows looks like '255C 1.5'
Didn't realise how much more info you needed until I looked on the Web (after jacking up the van and having the rear wheel off) so the number on the mounting will have to wait for the next sunny day

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your information which is sufficient and ideal. The other bits I wanted were just in case the crucial part number was missing.
I would be interested in how much you and others paid for their kits and whether their price included fitting. Email me or pm me if your shy
Presumably they only take about two hours to fit?

I have just been quoted £192 + VAT for a DIY Air assistance kit from Drinkwater Engineering for my new Fiat Maxi chassis. This will allow it to be uprated to 4150 GVW for a further £250 + VAT, including new VIN plate. It costs more if you haven't got ABS, but this still seems quite cheap to me for the increase in payload.

That’s £225.60 inc vat which is very good. I did enquire with someone else who wanted £290 inc vat & del. A lot of people seem to have paid around the £500 mark.
