Just thought I'd pitch in and say this is a fantastic thread
for people (like me) who are new to Motor Homes trying to
read manuals and figure out how they work.

I think our main problem was that we didn't have an absolute clue, even though we paid attention at the dealer. It's been like the blind leading the blind. We are starting to get to grips with it now but I must admit we have gained most of all from the people here on the forum, and, by trial and error.

I, too, think it is a great idea to get some info together for those new to Motorhoming. Perhaps a new section with a how-to guide for all aspects of motorhoming.
Manuals are sometimes amigious at best and downright impossible most of the time. That's if they even have your van in it.
