for anyone in the UK using a laptop check out the t-mobile data card. At £20 per month it gives unlimited access to internet plus free text messages. No need to find a hot spot, switch on,plug in and away you go!

Surely this requires a 3G phone on T mobile's network which if you are a Vodaphone pay as you go user is going to cost you far more than £20 per month.

I think Tony is refering to T mobiles 3g card that plugs into the laptop, so no phone required Frank.

Have you a link Tony

Morning all

It is a shame it does not work overseas! That would be a mega solution for us!

I've got the Vodafone 3G datacard which costs £2 per mb in the UK and £3.50 in Europe with no monthly line rental. The card was free with the lappy I bought although they're normally £200 or thereabouts. We're smart enough to realise that it's too expensive for general web browsing but as we only use it for emails and internet banking it's been fine. Total bill last month was less than a tenner.

Hi

Vodafone UK offered me 100 MB per month (overseas) for £45.00 per month.

When I clean my disc drive etc it tells me how many KB there were.

How many Bytes = 100 MB - I am guesing 100,000 or 1,000,000

Presumably 1000 bytes = 1 KB

Can someone confirm please?

How many bytes is an average web page?

Hi

I just found this on the web.

If 1 MB = 1048576 Bytes, then 100 MB = 104,857,600 bytes.

In theory then, 100 MB = 102400 KB I think

Is that fairly good value for overseas use?
