Hi Russ and Carol

we have our house on the market at the moment. the agents are totally useless - to date they have had the property on the market for four weeks and only two viewings.

This week we paid £40 to place our own advert in the small ads. Five viewings and three about to put offers in. A bit more activity than from the so called experts.

hi stew,
as you know, we had our house on the market when we all met up at the fulltiming rally. it"s been on the market now for 13 weeks, I think you may have hit on a good idea, maybe a small ad in the local rag could do the trick, will discuss with Carol & keep you posted on local reaction.

Russ

Well! I've voted "in the near future" if you count next March. I'm retiring end of the year and we plan to let the house and go travelling for a year (part of the idea is to investigate living abroad).

The interesting thing is that everyone I tell (not motorhomers necessarily) thinks it's a brilliant idea. Well, that's what they say to my face - but they are probably thinking we're off our heads.

Yes, we are a little nervous but what the hell! - let's have an adventure while we still can.

Hi Ian

I get exactly the same reaction from work colleagues, retiring they say .. at YOUR age ?? ,,.. ohh I wish I could do that.. I say, why not .. life is for living not racing up and down the A13 every day, working for the tax man and being rewarded with 22 days annual holiday and high blood pressure.. it is a rat race the rats are winning,..
Yes, it takes courage and it takes a certain amount of devil may care attitude but it's this kind of spirit and attitude that put the Great in Britain.. sadly it's almost gone, we are brainwashed into believing that a new Ikea suite or new car will fulfill our dreams .. when inside everyone there is a spirit struggling to get out, dying, smothered in consumerism .. listen to your heart .,. follow your dream..
rant over ..
best of luck .. see you on the road Wink

Hardly a rant Jim, more like a common sense approach to what you want out of life.

I voted (only thinking about it) if my children were younger I may have voted differently, I just can't be sure.

I read all about you upcoming and already full timing people and wonder at what adventures you will experience.

As has been said you have done the hard part by making the decision, you'll soon reap the benefits and wonder, as I'm sure a lot do, just why it took you so long, I'm pretty sure that's how I would feel anyway.

Good luck with it all, will follow your progress with interest and hopefully we will have the chance to park next to you at a site one day...who knows, it's a small world and it would perfect having people like yourself as neighbours.

MHS...Rob Very Happy

p.s. pusser, if you were to go full timing just for a year, I think you may have enough material for half dozen best sellers. Laughing

So 69% so far are either doing it, going to do it or would do it if the other half would join in
