Hi

After a lot of research, I have come up with this lot.

The data card costs €119.00 and then per month to be on line it is €30.00 with a download allowance of 9GB.

I think that 9 gig would probably meet most peoples requirements.

There is still an issue about billing and whether it can be a continual credit card charging authority or whether it can be paid on line.

There is a limitation however - this provider does not allow net access between 0900 and 1700. An alternative package with these times is available but much less advantageous.

I will come back with more info soon.

My friend roberto who runs a coffee shop at Lake Garda came up with it. I think it works in other countries too. I do not know if that is possible though.

More later!

Hi

Update as promised

25 Euros per month will allow 24/7/365 use of the net - maximum download is 500 mb.

The payment is collected easily as follows.

You would need a pay as you go SIM card belonging to the country you are in. Take the SIM to a top up point and that's it.

If you go to another country, you would need another SIM, otherwise roaming charges would apply.

Looks ok for those staying put but not for those hopping between countries.

Does anyone know how much 500 MB is realistically speaking? Enough for general browsing etc?

Hi Pusser

Well compared to the £95.00 that Vodafone UK want it is cheap.

I pay £15.00 per month here for broadband plus the BT line at approx £15.00 per month so all in all it looks good to me.

I suppose put like that it is cheap for what is available but even so, a hefty bit out for internet access. 500mb is more than sufficient for browsing and sending emails.

Morning Jim

how do you know how much you have downloaded and uploaded? Is there a tally somewhere?

Also, what is the difference between down loading and uploading?

Yes, I think I'd prefer 9GB and restrict myself to mornings and evenings.

Do you have a link to slate my, albeit, academic curiosity?

Hi Dave

I am dealing with a shop in Italy and also have received advice from a UK firm called Phonetek Nation.
