If you put small, brick-built walls down each side (say, about a foot or so high), and then put one security post at the end, you should be covered?
I've got a stonking piece of wood across the inside of the back gates, behind which Polly lurks. Gates are secured to it by a BIG hasp and BIG BIG padlock. Should be safe.

i have security posts in my drive. the originals were round, and when people reversed into them, as they do, they bent and ovalled them. result - could not drop them (no double ententre please). to replace them, had to use a stump puller (no d.e. again) took 2 days to get them out, and now have heavy duty ram-raid posts. still get hit, but don't get bent. moral of the story - buy heavy duty posts.

I have just had my driveway monoblocked and we put in a security post. Its a great idea to do it. My driveway is not wide so just the one post does for me. Go for it as later you might regret it.
