I've been reading some bumf today on LPG conversions for petrol generators. They claim 50% saving on petrol costs and also a useful reduction on sound level. Not yet having a MH for myself I am wondering whether lots of people are using LPG already - or are the comments above relating to petrol generators?

We invested in having 2 leisure batteries and our mh has a genny fitted under . it is very quiet on tick over while charging, but as soon as you draw current it can be noisy. we just use it to top up the batteries as and when needed and of course when the boss wants to use hair dryer.

Generators should be stacked in a pile and crushed for re-cycling! We camped near a tit in a tent who ran one all bank holiday weekend to keep his fridge going. The fool. I switched it off everytime I went past to the loo Smile

A dull drone all weekend - some folk did complain but he insisted that it kept his food cool and was therefore ok.

He also had a flat tyre on Monday morning ???? Rolling Eyes

Current MH is Compass Calypso on VW T4. Last one was Autosleeper Trooper on a T4 and before that two VW T2 campers - you get the idea...? Smile

Hi All

Just a word of warning!

Placing portable generators away from your MH, where you cannot secure them, would make them extremely attractive to the dregs of humanity, THE THIEF, who tend to raise their ugly heads at major events such as shows and the larger rallies near to towns; as an unfortunate MH nieghbour of mine at Peterborough found out to his cost (he had only just bought it at the show).

I use a Honda Gennie (secured by large chain to the MH) now and again which was for the oldish 240V TV, but I have now got a 12V TV so its use may be reduced in the future.

Bill
