Hi

This place is a firm favourite of mine

http://www.auchanboulogne.com/

I have put it under contiental touring as the home page included fuel prices which may be of interest. You can play about with the web address and find other stores etc

Hi

- and ours too. Easy to park up. Wine in boxes for the Brits but much easier to get round than the Auchan at Calais. Also handy MH service point just behind the garage. This is our first and last stop when we go to France.

Hello Rapide,

Great Store I agree, go deeper and the prices can fall or rise but the wine gets better.

The further away from the port you go the better, cheaper maybe!

I'm not an expert at booze prices but sometimes I have trouble seeing the difference in price that makes it worth while the effort.

Well Pusser i am a wine connoisseur....(pity we don't have an emoticon for tongue in cheek)........alright ,alright booze expert and i have yet to be convinced there is much wine in any French Channel supermarket worth drinking.I am sure that if it doesnt sell in Metroploitan France they just send the boxes North because'' we know sombody who will buy it''.
Perhaps there are bargains in the Carrefor Cave but i get lost in the minutae of Bordeaux.

I always go to TESCO or SAINSBURY'S in Calais even the Majestic Outlet buying brands that i know and are IMHO not a waste of money.Savings can be reasonable.

That of course is only a top up for the bottles purchased from France Passion vignerons.

Don Flak jacket and take cover. Laughing Laughing

I ended up at Sainsbury's at Auchan in Calais, mainly because that's where the motorhome friendly part of the car park is. We ended up buying some wine and beer there, and some at the Auchan proper, largely because only one of them had my preference in various categories. There wasn't much difference in price, as you might expect, when the same items were in both.

What was an absolute joy of Sainsbury's was how the produce was laid out and signed - it was a joy to choose.

Mental note, however, to take a Nectar card next time and not leave it at home.
