Hi

When I receive a notification by email & click on the link I am not signed in. I therefore cannot post a reply or access certain members only areas.
Now in the newsletter just received there is a link to the recent rally. I presume this is a report piccies etc. I click on th link & I get message access denied even though I am signed in and on the web site seconds before. Please can I access these links & be signed in so that i can see them and reply if necessary thanks. I still have not found this link .

Hi Motorhomer

I'm no computer buff but the first thing that springs to mind is you have 'cookies' turned off in your browser (under 'tools', 'privacy'). The site doesn't recognise you from the info on your computer.
That's probably a far too simple answer.

Do you normally have to log in when you click to come to motorhomefacts.com?

Hi Motorhomer,

Have you broke it? Wink

I don’t use MS Internet Explorer, but just tried the link you mention as follows;

Open message in Outlook Express, double click on
Only registered users can see links on our Forum
Join Now or Login
This then opens MS Internet Explorer, which tells me I’m not logged in, so log in. Don’t close IE, but click back to the message in OE and click on the link again. Click back to the already opened IE to find it now has taken me to “MotorhomeFacts Rally 14/15th May 2004”

Other than the above, you’ll have to wait for Dave Nukeadmin to respond. But do reply as to how your system respond compared to mine.

For interest, I run my internet software through a firewall which is provided by Nortons (also does the virus bit as well). I also have my machine set to accept cookies. I tried to find a link/setting to keep me logged in all the time, but found nothing. For normal browsing I use Mozilla Firebird as it allows me to open loads of pages in the background without having to keep clicking back to the source page. Thus the new pages are loading in the background while I’m still reading and opening links on the first/source page.

Hi autostratus,

Thanks for the reply,

I am no computerbuff either. Have to rely on other half but he hasnt managed to solve the problem either.

I am normally automaticaly signed in when I enter the website. ie I dont log out & I dont need to log in. except that is when other half has had a cookie clearout.

I have checked tools , options, privacy & edit &

is set to allways allow cookies. hence I presume is why I never have to sign in. But when I try to come in via the notifications by email i dont appear to be signed in. and therefore cant post & am denied access to members areas. I tried signing in again although I am already signed in and the web page i was looking at prior to trying the email link is still open but it still doesnot work. very frustrating.

Im dying to read all your first rally news & I cant find it when actually on the website

Hi,

Top of the page select ‘Members’ from the drop down menus, select Login/View Account.
On new page select ‘Change Info’ from the Windows type icons.
On the new page, half way downish, there are some yes/no options, the first being ‘Receive Newsletter by Email?’

From the homepage click on the box at the top marked 'login/view account' then select the 'change info' prompt, the 'receive email by newsletter' checkbox should be about halfway down the page.

Hi Motorhomer,

I’ve just edited the link you used in your first post and something has occurred to me. Are you using OE as your newsreader or something like MSM? I think you need to open your browser and log on (if not already done so), copy the link from your email (highlight it then Ctrl and C to copy) then back in your browser, paste the copied link into the address bar (highlight existing address, then Ctrl and V to paste), click the enter key then you should get in
