You say new Hymer, is this new or new to you? Surely if new there will be instructions. Anyhow I have an Oyster Digital IV which I think is the same vintage as the vehicle, (1997), and I have English instructions.

If this looks as if it might be useful I could scan a copy and bring it to Binton.

I took it to transleisure when I bought the vehicle and had it configured with an A+B switch for a sky box and some other stuff, they were helpful and efficient, but also quite expensive. My couple of hours and some bits of cable and a switch came to about Ģ150 give or take. However it was good to know how to make it function and know it was doing it correctly, so I thought worth the money.

Hi Steve
Transleisure are the sole importer in the uk and a very helpful bunch of people. Just bought a pile of bit for my new van from them.

I also have a new-to-me MH with an oyster fitted...we have the sky box rigged up and tv tuned in - but no sat sig being received - error E03 on the oyster - basically the damn dish won't start up - it's still flat at the moment!!! HELP!!!

The MH is hooked up to mains at the mo - so it's not low voltage, the power pack light has the red light on, I'm really stumped with this...I thought the dish was meant to start up itself and then you use the remote to search for the satellite you want....?

Have you pressed the standyby button? This makes the dish go up or down. Unless you have dual lnb then keep sky box switched off until you have the dish at the right satellite.
Did you receive no instructions?

Steve

hey

yeah we received a book on the oyster (but the dealer didnt know themselves how to work it)...hence why we know what an E03 error code means...which is that the dish is either blocked or in the wrong position to pick up a signal...but when we go outside the MH to look - it isn't even coming up...I suppose you would be able to hear it moving from inside the van anyways,....and nothing...

we have followed the instructs as far as poss - but there is no trouble shooting for the dish simply not activating...everything else but! I have pressed the standby button, pressed the mute button for 3 secs as the book says....B all is happening and I can't understand why....

You could carry on trying to solve this yourself but, you say new to you and dealer! if that is the case take it back to them and get them to get it going.

If for some reason that is not the way you want to go I would start a new post asking for help. As a lot of members have already looked at or skipped this posting as it is about instructions.

Good luck

Steve

Firstly I would recommend you disconnect sky box untill you have it functioning. The SKY box when operative draws the signal from the dish and the self seek does not work on the Oyster box.

Next ON the Oyster box there is a manual switch. On our Hymer if you look at the Oyster all the wires and connection are facing you. Put your hand at the back and you should find a small switch. Turn off for 30 seconds and back on again. Dish will return to factory default.

Regards
