Hi Irishhomer
How did you get on VRT'ing your camper? We are hoping to get ours weighed and VRT'd this week.
How did you find the process? Were the revenue helpful or a bit straight?
Cheers

Well done and congrats. We have a LH as well bought in Germany. I just phoned around for a truma gas regulator as for some reason ours has given up the ghost. I left messages with 3 dealers and rang Truma themselves but the young lady on the phone could not help me !!!! The other motorhomedealers have not even bothered to ring back ! I rang my dealer in Germany and he has posted one straightaway. Hurray
When we bought our first Adria, I bought one way tickets to Hannover not even knowing if we liked the motorhome that we went over for. We were standing at the dealer laughing our heads off as we realised we just returned the hire car, no return flight and suitcases in hand and what if we didn't want that motorhome. But all was fine and a couple of hours later drove off in it. But I can understand that feeling, it is great.
I have some great campsites in Germany on my list and will post them a little later to you.
Thanks Irishhomer,
I worked in Rossnowlagh many moons ago so it is worth a revisit, although we be way up north, beyond Creeslough, where Myra still has a few cousins. We'll not be stuck but thanks for the offer of your number just thought I'd tap for local knowledge. BTW we have never stayed on a site in Baile Ath Cliath so dont feel too bad
best wishes
Noel
PS well done marydoll - hope you have many years happiness in your new toy

If you're up beyond Creeslogh, you are sorted for scenery for sure. If you haven't been to Rossnowlagh for a few years prepare yourself for a shock - it's completely overdeveloped now.

VRT was no problem. I made to sure to buy a second hand motorhome with a gross weight of over 3000kg. Still, it was a bit of a sweat til I got it weighed. Took the weigh docket to nearest Customs office and the paperwork was done in 15 minutes. Number issued in the next two or three days. You'll find a list of customs/VRO offices on www.revenue.ie
Hi Mary+Stewart.
Congratulations on your new Motorhome is that the first one you had? Quiet a few Irish People have bought in Germany.
You will get more revelant information from them on www.campsitereview.com an Irish web site. ...... aido
Lovely to hear about your adventure to Germany. Must of been nerve racking!
Made me smile to hear about you emptying the toilet! Its a job we all hate! One bit of advice... go green, use Bio Magic instead of environment damaging chemicals. Its cheaper than chemicals as well. You can also get it for a special price if you are a member of MHF...
Click Here and scroll down the page until you get to Bio Magic.
I wish you both many happy travels and many enjoyable toilet emptyings...
