Hi Doug, Sorry to be a wet blanket about this but have you checked with your insurance company first as if you tell them the history they will probably insist on a gas safety & soundness check. What this means is if you decide to fit a catalytic heater your ventilation requirements will have to be included in the gas check as it is not a room sealed appliance. If possible go for the carver/truma flued fire as it will not affect your ventilation requirements. As you have swapped the body this would count as a new fitment & would need to conform to the CURRENT has safety regulations & NOT the ones current when your conversion was QRIGINALLY made. Bit of a minefield I am afraid, If you want to discuss it further PM me & I will give you my phone number,Steve

hi steve
looks like this is going to be way over my head to sort out myself.
with the layout of the van there is no wall were a flue could be fitted unless it comes out the bottom of the fire and not out the backas there is no clearence behind it due to the toilet.
it was origanly made with a gas fire but was removed to fit a c2 toilet.
i think i will leave it till i have the money to get it sorted profesionally and stick to sites with electric.
thanks for your help, i now know alot more about gas and have avoided making a big mistake.

thanks,
doug.
