Looking for a Laptop to record trips when we are away.
Also to store photos.

Need DVD. Wifi. Plenty of storage etc.

Have looked at Dell and Acer.

Budget €800/€1000

What would you recommend?

Need help.

Thank you.

I would recommend a Sony Vaio for about £700 in PC World.

Hi

My desktop was from Dell and it was OK.

This laptop is a Toshiba A100. £599 in PC world, £499 in Currys.

Hi N&N,

I was in the same boat as you just recently and on a members recommendation I went for a Dell Inspiron.

You can go through an online 'customise and buy' ordering process to get all the options you need.
The trick is to go through this process, get the price, then ring them and do a bit of bartering on the price, worked for me and i've had no probs with mine so far (touchwood).

The main thing that swung it for me was the ability to order one exactly to your specification and in particular for us, there was the option for a more powerful battery for longer use off the mains that the others didn't have.

I'm sure all the boffins will tell you which processor/memory etc to go for...
