Is anybody out there going to Stratford this year? It has always been our favourite show, but attendance of both traders and punters seemed to have dropped off a bit over the last couple of years. Fireworks get better (and louder) each year though.
If you go we may see you there.

We are intending to go on Friday & stay for the weekend, I think I have a MotorHome facts A4 logo I can put in the window but from past experience it is difficult to find anybody at these shows unless you arrange to meet up. Maybe somebody could suggest a meeting point possibly on the Saturday Question
One year at the York show we spent almost an hour trying to find our own van (I know it's only small), they had colours for the different section but on the map we had it didn't show that there were 2 yellow sections & they weren't next to each other. It wasn't until desperation & rain set in we asked a passing marshall who had a different map. Maybe next time I'll take my GPS with me to get me home Rolling Eyes

It would be handy if you included dates, location, web site, etc so that those who don't know about it could consider it.

Sorry Legend I didn't put a link on this thread but I had put one on an earlier post 'Not many mentionin Stratford show'. We went but it was just a case of getting away for the weekend, as a show I still don't think that it's that good. Most of the ones organised by http://www.stoneleisure.com/ don't seem to be well organised or supported by many of the smaller stalls that we like.
I prefer the likes of Peterborough & York http://www.warnersgroup.co.uk/exhibitions/york/default.asp

BTW its not hard to find information just using Google http://www.google.com/

I agree with Kontiki, the show this year was the worst one we have ever been to. There were hardly any of the accessory stalls there, which for most owners are the main reason for going. The grass hadn't been cut in the general parking areas, rubbish was overflowing as were the Elsan points (all 2 of them). There was no flying display, the bus into town was far too small to cope, we had to wait in the rain for over an hour. The fireworks only lasted 10 minutes, but as usual they were quite spectacular.
To finish off a poor weekend we were in "generator city" with 3 RV's running all day.
I find this very annoying when fellow campers fire up a genny then go off for the day. We like to spend some time in the van for lunch etc, and have to put up with the noise and fumes.
Have I lost the plot? is it just me ? or do others find this annoying?
Colin
PS the marshalls at the show did an excellent job as usual.

I agree, there were not as many small stalls as I would have liked but I enjoyed the show.

Meet up with a few old friends and had a great time.

When's the next one?

I'm not planning to go to the show myself but wouldn't it be an idea for them who wish to meet up and go to the show to book into a site in stratford itself then you would have no trouble finding each other and could do a bit of sightseeing aswell,
theres a nice site down the tiddington road, does a little boat to take you into stratford.
