Has anybody been on a winter holiday to France and taken a dog with them, its our first trip with our dog to Europe and my boys would like to go skiing over the Christmas period.
Any advice would be good.

our two spaniels love the snow and as doggies have fur coats they are well equipped for the cold...we have never taken them in the camper as they are very bouncy and it is hard enough skiing with two small children, however they have been in a ski resort for a long period of time and loved it, i can't see any problems with taking them except the obvious wet paws etc....does your dog stay in the garage or inside the van???

My dog is a Chocolate Doberman called Gabby and she sleeps under the table in the motorhome, and loves going on holiday, we do have a garage but it takes everything apart from the kitchen sink, and Gab is a member of the family and I wouldn't dream of leaving her in the garage compartment of the van.
It sounds like fun. We will see. Which resorts can you surgest 2 boys aged 12/15 and a husband who thinks he is 18. Ski/Board school required. Sites or Aires.

We stopped at Gourette in France at the Aires there on our way back from Spain. Our Spaniel loved the snow. The skiers came almost to the car park on their skis. The dog could stay in the mh whilst you skied. Then there are restaurants that lead onto the snow and dog could be with you there. We also have plenty of old towls for wiping paws.
If staying at a campsite then it would need to be by ski slopes as skiing with a dog might be difficult.
I have also got to add my mother in law has bought some boots for her spaniel to prevent the dog going in their caravan with muddy paws....they really do work but are rather amusing.....maybe they would be good for the snow too
