I was ferreting around the engine compartment last week when i noticed that the chassis plate had been overstamped, so instead of saying 1850 for the front axle it actually had 2000 instead.
I consulted the Kraftfahrzeugbrief, which is the equivalent of a vehicle registration document for my Euramobil when i bought it in Germany, but too confusing to make out exactly what this discovery meant. So i emailed Euramobil themselves. They replied today with some excellent news, see excerpt from their email below.
Dear Sir,
as you can see in the „Kraftfahrzeugbrief“ the admissible front axle weight has been changed from 1 850 kg to 2 000 kg. Thus also the total admissible vehicle weight has been increased from 4 500 kg to 5 000 kg. (for any reason not changed in the “KFZ-Brief”). The weight increase is based, as you can see in the “KFZ Brief” page 2, on the installation of the GOLDSCHMITT Feder (spring) M 2 on the front axle. This weight increase is certified by the “EC TYPE APPROVAL CERTFICATE” e1*71/320*2002/78*4563*00.
A modified type plate from GOLDSCHMITT is also available.
I have another email after that saying they can provide the plate and are going to send it to my home address.
Well what can i say my payload just jumped up by 500Kg
I thought i would post here just in case someone else has a Maxi chassis on tag axle like me and wondered if it would be possible to upgrade it
NB: Just found the website for Goldschmitt
